We created Popur because we were trying to solve a problem in our own life. With a lot of scooping and tinkering every day since 2016, we have been envisioning a perfect litter box for our five critters to use comfortably and safely. It took us six years from an acrylic, rudimentary prototype to bringing Popur to life.

Popur truly would not exist without the support of its community of cat parents all around the world. We bootstrapped and started out as a Kickstarter project in May 2022, and amassed nearly 2,000 early supporters who finally made the dream come true. It was an enormous success, and Popur has been riding that wave of enthusiasm for smart design and delightful solutions ever since.
Through crowdfunding people are able to participate more intimately in the development process, all while we are kept free of risk-averse outside investment. Crowdfunding is baked into our DNA, encouraging us to take risks, prioritize innovation, speak honestly, and shun tradition.
