He completed a residency in family medicine and received advanced training through a research and faculty development fellowship at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He also holds a Master of Business Administration in Healthcare Organization Leadership from the University of Texas at Dallas.
Certified by the American Board of Family Medicine, he joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 1998.
