Built with marble brought from Italy, it has a 31 meter high minaret and a unique design that complements with beautiful engravings on its ceiling.

It represents a spiritual refuge for the Arab community that lives in this municipality,which, despite being far from their lands and culture or those of their ancestors,keeps alive their faith and devotion to their only God, known as Allah. The mosque Omar ibn al Khattab is one of the biggest tourist attractions found in Maicao,for natives and visitors.
